A Cognitive IoT Smart Surveillance Framework for Crowd Behavior Analysis

2021 International Conference on COMmunication Systems & NETworkS (COMSNETS), 2021
Smart and proactive surveillance using IoT framework has recently attracted a lot of attention due to the impracticality of traditional monitoring to handle large amounts of data from distributed cameras. However, in the case of IoT platforms for video processing, centralized cloud servers may fail due to high latency and high bandwidth usage, leading ...

Path Analysis of Buyer Behavior under Conditions of Crowding

Journal of Marketing Research, 1980
By use of path analysis on data from 600 shoppers, the authors explore the sequential relationships among several variables pertinent to retail crowding. Results furnish evidence that perceived crowding systematically affects shopping behavior and consumers’ feelings about retail outlets and shopping trips.

Integer programming based crowd behavior analysis for world expo

2013 IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting (BMSB), 2013
With the large-scale activities increasing gradually, crowd behavior analysis becomes more and more popular and important. Trajectory identification and estimation are key techniques in crowd behavior analysis. This paper develops an integer programming based trajectory identification algorithm.

Using Conditional Random Field for Crowd Behavior Analysis

2011
The governing behaviors of individuals in crowded places offer unique and difficult challenges. In this paper, a novel framework is proposed to investigate the crowd behaviors and to localize the anomalous behaviors. Novelty of the proposed approach can be revealed in three aspects.

The simulation and analysis of pedestrian crowd and behavior

Science in China Series E: Technological Sciences, 2008
Pedestrian crowd in public buildings is usually a hidden trouble. The more serious the crowd, the higher the accident risk, and the heavier the casualties and loss may be. Based on the social force model, this paper puts forward an improved model which takes into account the anisotropic characteristic of pedestrian movement and the avoidance of dynamic

Crowd Behavior Analysis Using Local Mid-Level Visual Descriptors

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, 2017
Crowd behavior analysis has recently emerged as an increasingly important and dedicated problem for crowd monitoring and management in the visual surveillance community. In particular, it is receiving a lot of attention to detect potentially dangerous situations and to prevent overcrowdedness. In this paper, we propose to quantify crowd properties by a

Identifying Behaviors in Crowd Scenes Using Stability Analysis for Dynamical Systems

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2012
method is proposed for identifying five crowd behaviors (bottlenecks, fountainheads, lanes, arches, and blocking) in visual scenes. In the algorithm, a scene is overlaid by a grid of particles initializing a dynamical system defined by the optical flow. Time integration of the dynamical system provides particle trajectories that represent the motion in

Crowd Behavior Analysis and Alert System Using Image Processing

2019
This paper deals with a prototype model, which aims to detect pedestrians and analyze the crowded scene. In a real-time environment, there are many practical issues that need to be taken into consideration while analyzing a crowded scenario such as occlusion and failure in tracking people.
