Investigation of Some Crown Ether Compounds for Electrochemical Determination of Dopamine

open access: yesDüzce Üniversitesi Bilim ve Teknoloji Dergisi
In this study, the use of three different crown ether-modified electrodes prepared by electropolymerization of different crown ether compounds (CE1, CE2 and CE3) on multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surfaces was ...

Organic-inorganic hybrid nanomaterials prepared from 4- formyl benzo-12-crown-4-ether and silica coated magnetite nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nanostructures, 2011
Silica  coated magnetite  nanoparticles were  covalent  grafted with  3-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane  to give APTSCMNPs. Reaction of  the resulted nanomaterial with 4-formyl benzo-12-crown-4 ether afforded FB12C4/APTSMNPs  nanocomposite  material  in ...

High‐Efficiency Deep Blue Single‐Gaussian Europium(II) Emitters and Their Emitter‐Host Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Crown‐ether ligands and carborate anions enable vacuum‐processable Eu(II) emitters with efficient single‐Gaussian deep‐blue luminescence. Combined photophysical and computational analyses reveal that excited‐electron confinement and steric shielding of the europium center jointly govern compatibility with OLED host materials, establishing molecular ...

Preparation and Performance Analysis of Anion Exchange Membranes Modified with Chromotropic Acid Grafted 18⁃Crown⁃6 Ether on Polyvinyl Alcohol

open access: yesLiaoning Shiyou Huagong Daxue xuebao
The quaternary ammonium group (QA) commonly used in conventional anion exchange membranes (AEMs) has a low dissociation constant with OH-, resulting in poor conductivity. The crown ether group can significantly enhance the ion exchange capacity (IEC) and

Photovoltaic Stimulation of Mouse and Pig Retina With Pyrolytic Carbon Microelectrodes Integrated on High‐Density Silicon Solar Cell Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we fabricate photovoltaic retinal implants with pyrolytic carbon electrodes and test their ability to stimulate mouse and pig retinas when illuminated with near‐infrared light. We find increased spiking activity in both animal models compared to spontaneous activity and TTX controls and analyze the spike amplitude, latency and frequency.

Crown ether-induced supramolecular passivation and two-dimensional crystal interlayer formation in perovskite photovoltaics

open access: yesCell Reports Physical Science, 2021
Summary: It is challenging to realize high efficiency and stability in perovskite photovoltaics simultaneously. Here, we show supramolecular chemistry using macrocyclic crown ether to prepare high-performance metal-halide perovskite films.

Clustomesogen Showing Sub‐Zero Liquid Crystal Properties: Supramolecular Assembly Between Cs2[Mo6Ii8(OCOC2F5)6] and Hexaethylenoxide Containing Mesogenic Dimers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Associating a red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral hexanuclear molybdenum cluster compound with hexaethyleneoxide chains bearing mesogenic units on both ends leads to an emissive hybrid liquid crystal showing mesomorphism on a very unusual temperature range down to −25°C.
