Genome‐wide DNA methylation study reveals specific signatures in the affected arterial tissue of giant cell arteritis patients

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objectives Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a large‐vessel vasculitis, potentially causing complications such as blindness and strokes. This study aims to gain insights into the pathogenesis of GCA by identifying specific DNA methylation signatures in the arterial tissue of patients with this vasculitis.

What does it mean? Translating anatomical language to engage public audiences

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The language of anatomy, with its roots in Ancient Greek and Roman languages, is complex and unfamiliar to many. Its complexity creates a significant barrier to public knowledge and understanding of anatomy—many members of the public find themselves asking “what does it mean?”, and this can manifest as poor health literacy and outcomes.

Stimuli‐Responsive Supramolecular Polymers of Mono‐ and Bis‐triazolylphenylazoaniline‐Functionalized Copillar[5]Arenes: With Distinctive Binding Modes

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, EarlyView.
Mono‐ and bis‐functionalized copillar[5]arenes 1 and 2 form pH‐ and photo‐responsive supramolecular polymers. Protonation of 1 enhances polymerization (1‐H), differing from neutral 2, which forms a 1:1 complex with DMP5 via cavity binding. Polymerization and morphology are tunable by pH and light, as shown by NMR, UV–vis, and FE‐SEM analyses.

Synthesis, Photophysical Properties, and Practical Hg(II)‐Sensing Applications of a Rigidified Phenolo‐Merocyanine Dye

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, EarlyView.
Rigidity for performance!!! A novel conformationally restrained phenolic merocyanine was synthesized in order to obtain a fluorogenic dye with outstanding spectral properties at physiological pH (fluorescence brightness > 71,000 M−1 cm−1). The utility of its optically tunable hydroxyl group was illustrated with a thiophosphinate‐based chemodosimeter ...

Metallocene Coordination to Neutral Alkaline Earth Metal Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, EarlyView.
Reactions between a series of geometrically constrained, Lewis acidic group 2 metal diamide complexes, and first row transition metal metallocenes have given a range of adducts in which the metallocene coordinates to the group 2 metal center through one of its cyclopentadienyl rings.
