Genomic organization of the structural genes controlling the astaxanthin biosynthesis pathway of Xanthophyllomyces dendrorhous

open access: yesBiological Research, 2008
The cloning and nucleotide sequence of the genes (idi, crtE, crtYB, crtl and crtS) controlling the astaxanthin biosynthesis pathway of the wild-type ATCC 24230 strain of Xanthophyllomyces dendrorhous in their genomic and cDNA version were obtained.

Characteristics and practices of school-based cluster randomised controlled trials for improving health outcomes in pupils in the United Kingdom: a methodological systematic review

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology, 2021
Background Cluster randomised trials (CRTs) are increasingly used to evaluate non-pharmacological interventions for improving child health. Although methodological challenges of CRTs are well documented, the characteristics of school-based CRTs with ...

CSS091109:035759+102943 - a candidate polar

open access: yes, 2012
We report optical time-resolved photometry of the CRTS transient CSS091109:035759+102943. Pronounced orbital variability with a 114 min period, large X-ray variability and the IR to X-ray spectral energy distribution suggest a classification as a ...

Beyond CD30: Dual‐Targeting of Malignant and Regulatory T Cells by Brentuximab Vedotin Remodels the Lymphoma Microenvironment and Overcomes Resistance via BCL2 Inhibition in Mycosis Fungoides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA analyses of paired lesions from CD30+ mycosis fungoides patients demonstrate that brentuximab vedotin (BV) induces immunogenic cell death in both CD30+ and CD30− malignant T cells. BV also targets regulatory T cells and remodels tumor microenvironment, while resistance is driven by impaired IFN responses, drug efflux, and BCL2 ...

Systematic scoping review of cluster randomised trials conducted exclusively in low-income and middle-income countries between 2017 and 2022

open access: yesBMJ Open
Objective Cluster randomised trials (CRTs) are used for evaluating health-related interventions in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs) but raise complex ethical issues.

Targeting PRKCN, an Essential Driver Orchestrating mTOR‐IRF4 Axis Independently of Kinase Activity, in Multiple Myeloma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Constitutive PRKCN expression is driven by super‐enhancers and modulated by NF‐κB signaling in multiple myeloma (MM). PRKCN activates mTORC1/2‐IRF4 signaling axis and favors tumor cell growth independently of its kinase activity. IRF4 reciprocally promotes PRKCN transcription, creating a feed‐forward loop.

Engineering MnPt Bimetallic Nanozymes for Cascade Enzymatic Therapy and Enhanced Radio‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A CD44‐targeted MnPt bimetallic nanozyme (HD@MnO2) integrates multienzyme‐like activity with cGAS–STING activation to boost radio‐immunotherapy. Through cascade biocatalysis, it depletes glutathione, relieves hypoxia, and amplifies ROS, enhancing radiotherapy‐induced DNA damage and immunogenic cell death. The nanozyme promotes dendritic cell maturation

Propensity score to detect baseline imbalance in cluster randomized trials: the role of the c-statistic

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology, 2016
Background Despite randomization, baseline imbalance and confounding bias may occur in cluster randomized trials (CRTs). Covariate imbalance may jeopardize the validity of statistical inferences if they occur on prognostic factors. Thus, the diagnosis of

Accessibility and interventions of crisis resolution teams: a multicenter study of team practices and team differences in Norway

open access: yesBMC Psychiatry, 2022
Background Components of crisis resolution teams’ (CRTs) practices have been defined in recommendations and a fidelity scale, and surveys have reported how team leaders describe CRT practices.

Multi‐Organelle Stress‐Induced Paraptosis by a ROS‐Amplifying Nanocatalyst for Enhanced Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The engineered TF‐Fe@LC nanoplatform programs paraptotic death via multipath ROS amplification that disrupts redox homeostasis, provoking mitochondrial dysfunction, autophagic blockade, and ER stress. This caspase‐independent process elicits robust immunogenic cell death, combining with αPD‐L1 to activate systemic CD8+ T‐cell immunity and suppress ...
