Viscosity of crude oils

Chemical Engineering Science, 1984
Abstract A series of experimental viscosity data for seven different North Sea oils is presented. A new corresponding states method for prediction of the viscosity of both gaseous and liquid hydrocarbon fluids has been developed. The required input is critical constants and the molecular weight of each component.

Crude oil analysis

Journal of Oil & Fat Industries, 1926
It has been shown that it is easily possible to obtain the exact amount of refined oil in a given sample of crude by an accurate analytical method.

Bioinspired Solar‐Heated Carbon Absorbent for Efficient Cleanup of Highly Viscous Crude Oil

Advanced Functional Materials, 2019
Efficient cleanup of viscous crude oil spill is a worldwide challenge due to its sluggish flowability at room temperature. Conventional oil remediation methods using physical absorbers, skimmers, and vacuum technologies either demonstrate low absorption ...

Egg Shell Powders-Coated Membrane for Surfactant-Stabilized Crude Oil-in-Water Emulsions Efficient Separation

ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering, 2019
Low-cost, environmentally friendly superwetting materials are urgently desired in industrial oily wastewater situations. In our work, egg shell powders (ESP)-coated polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes were fabricated by vacuum pumping ESP and sodium

Forecasting realized volatility of crude oil futures with equity market uncertainty

Applied Economics, 2019
This paper examines whether the equity market uncertainty (EMU) index contains incremental information for forecasting the realized volatility of crude oil futures.

Layer‐by‐Layer Construction of Cu2+/Alginate Multilayer Modified Ultrafiltration Membrane with Bioinspired Superwetting Property for High‐Efficient Crude‐Oil‐in‐Water Emulsion Separation

Advanced Functional Materials, 2018
Due to highly adhesive property, crude oil is easier to adhere on foul filtration membranes. Separation of crude oil‐in‐water emulsion is a continuing tough work. Hydrogels with low‐adhesive superoleophobicity are ideal materials for modifying filtration

Impact of Natural Surfactant (Reetha), Polymer (Xanthan Gum), and Silica Nanoparticles To Enhance Heavy Crude Oil Recovery

Energy & Fuels, 2019
The recovery of heavy crude oil is limited because of the high interfacial tension (IFT) between the crude oil and aqueous phase, which restricts the extent of emulsification and results in poor mobility.

Crude Oil

2014
Oil has been the number one source of energy in the world since the middle of the twentieth century. The world is very dependent on petroleum for transportation fuels, petrochemicals and asphalt. But ever increasing demand has caused the price of oil to spike in recent years, and only the world economic crisis has been able to temper demand and bring ...

Carbazoles of crude oil

Petroleum Chemistry U.S.S.R., 1989
Abstract 1. 1. A chromatographic method has been proposed for selective and complete isolation of carbazole derivatives from crude oils and their distillate fractions. 2. 2. The individual composition of carbazoles from four crude oils of different fields has been investigated.

Alkyldiphenylmethanes in Crude Oils

Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds, 1996
Abstract GC-HRMS was used for the analysis of alkyldiphenylmethanes in crude oil. Diphenylmethane and four isomeric methyldiphenylmethanes were identified in crude oils by comparison of their mass spectra and chromatographic behaviour with authentic standards.
