Crude Oil Prices: Trends and Forecast
Following record low interest rates and fast depreciating U.S. dollar, crude oil prices became under rising pressure and seemed boundless. Oil price process parameters changed drastically in 2003M5-2007M10 toward consistently rising prices. Short-term forecasting would imply persistence of observed trends, as market fundamentals and underlying monetary

Crude Oil and Motor Fuel: Fair Price Revisited [PDF]
In April 2009, we introduced a model representing the evolution of motor fuel price (a subcategory of the consumer price index of transportation) relative to the overall CPI as a linear function of time. Under our framework, all price deviations from the linear trend are transient and the price must promptly return to the trend. Specifically, the model

Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals are promising scintillators but suffer from reabsorption losses and limited compatibility with high‐Z additives. Hybridization of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals with PbBr2‐passivated HfO2 nanoparticle sensitizers, achieved during or after synthesis, produces stable composites with maintained optical quality, improved ...

Effects of the 2008 financial crisis on the linkages among the oil, gold, and platinum markets
To find out if gold remains to be unlinked with the crude oil market after the 2008 financial crisis, we investigated how long-run price linkages and price causalities among crude oil and gold markets changed before and after the crisis.

Google Index-Driven Oil Price Value-at-Risk Forecasting: A Decomposition Ensemble Approach
The oil price is influenced not only by the fundamentals of supply and demand but also by unpredictable political conflicts, climate emergencies, and investor intentions, which cause enormous short-term fluctuations in the oil price.

Proteins, Processing, and Properties of Adhesive Fluid Condensates Purified from Mussels
Mussels exhibit an unmatched proficiency for adhering to wet surfaces in salty environments—a remarkable ability that could inspire new biomedical and technical glues. The fluid protein condensates used to form the underwater mussel glue are extracted, reconstituted and characterized with advanced spectroscopy and nanomechanical analysis, revealing ...

Supply-side perspective for carbon pricing
This paper theoretically and empirically revisits carbon pricing from the supply-side perspective for carbon assets to solve the recent low price issue which may delay the development of emission reduction technologies in the sense of marginal abatement ...

Pullulan, a biomass‐derived polysaccharide, is transformed into transparent optical fibers using a solvent‐free borax hydrogel‐spinning method. The fibers outperform PMMA with ≈200 MPa tensile strength and 200 °C stability, while uniquely guiding visible‐to‐NIR light and enabling additive‐free humidity sensing.
