Influence of Rubber Size on Properties of Crumb Rubber Mortars [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2016
Studies on the properties and applications of rubber cement-based materials are well documented. The sizes of rubbers used in these materials varied. However, information about the effects of rubber size on the properties of rubber cement-based materials, especially pore structure, mechanical strengths, and drying shrinkage properties, remains limited.

Acoustic properties of rubber crumbs

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 1999
Abstract The purpose of this article is to demonstrate that in the actual state of the art, recycled rubber products can be used to form acoustic absorbent materials, applicable to control noise pollution. Their applicability in noise screens shows excellent performance of broadband acoustic absorption.

Ingestion of car tire crumb rubber and uptake of associated chemicals by lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus)

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2023
Car tire rubber constitutes one of the largest fractions of microplastics emissions to the environment. The two main emission sources are tire wear particles (TWPs) formed through abrasion during driving and runoff of crumb rubber (CR) granulate produced

Positive Doping Test Linked to Crumb Rubber From Artificial Football Pitch: Case Report

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
1,3‐DMBA was detected in urine samples of eight athletes following a doping control, resulting in one AAF and levels below WADA's MRL in seven teammates. Investigation revealed contamination from rubber infill used on the indoor artificial turf, with analysis confirming 1,3‐DMBA in the turf's crumb rubber originating from recycled tires.
