Multi‐View Biomedical Foundation Models for Molecule‐Target and Property Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecular foundation models can provide accurate predictions for a large set of downstream tasks. We develop MMELON, an approach that integrates pre‐trained graph, image, and text foundation models and validate our multi‐view model on over 120 tasks, including GPCR binding.

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Gravity‐Tolerant In‐Flight 3D Bioprinting Enabled by Stereolithography for Space Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A flight‐compliant, closed stereolithographic 3D bioprinting system enables robust fabrication of acellular and cell‐laden hydrogel constructs under varying gravitational conditions, including microgravity and hypergravity phases. Printed structures retain dimensional fidelity and high‐resolution features, while cell viability remains high ...

DEUS VULT? Crusade Apologists, Historians and “Abortive Rituals” in the 1999 Reconciliation Walk to Jerusalem

open access: yesPráticas da História, 2019
The nine-hundredth anniversary of the First Crusade (1095-99) saw hundreds of evangelical Western Christians trace the route of the medieval expedition apologising to local communities for the violence of the crusades. The Reconciliation Walk embodied an

He Was The Best of Kings; He Was the Worst of Kings: A Critique of the Literary Presentation of Richard I

open access: yes, 2015
In order to achieve a more holistic understanding of Mediterranean History during the Third Crusade, a critical analysis of Richard I is necessary. This paper questions how accurately Richard I was portrayed in literary sources during the Third Crusade ...

Ubiquitination‐Driven Reprogramming of Proteostasis in Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The DCAF12–TRiC/CCT axis is a key regulator of metastasis in cancer. By reprogramming proteostasis to ensure efficient protein folding, it drives progression through a dual mechanism: enhancing cancer cell motility and invasiveness while concurrently activating pro‐growth and survival pathways.

Spatial Control Over Tether‐Tunable Coordination on Palladium for Divergent Synthesis of Bicyclo[n.1.0]alkanes via Oxidative Cyclopropanation of Enynes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We have developed a Pd‐catalyzed oxidative cyclopropanation of 1,n‐enynes employing cyclic diacyl peroxides as bifunctional reagents that serve as both tether‐tunable oxidants and spatially controlled dicarboxylate anions. ABSTRACT Bicyclo[n.1.0]alkanes are highly valuable scaffolds in drug discovery and synthetic chemistry.

An efficient curing policy for epidemics on graphs

open access: yes, 2014
We provide a dynamic policy for the rapid containment of a contagion process modeled as an SIS epidemic on a bounded degree undirected graph with n nodes.

Virtual prototyping of medieval weapons for historical reconstruction of siege scenarios starting from topography and archaeological investigations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Chronicles of sieges to castles or fortresses, using “machinae”, can often be found in historical sources. Moreover, archaeological excavations of castles or fortresses has brought to light rocks or projectiles whose carving suggests a military usage ...
