Ethical Precision in Nanoscale Brain Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As brain interfaces approach the nanoscale, precision no longer only measures—it knows, predicts, and potentially reshapes the mind. This work argues that traditional ethics fails under such conditions and proposes a shift toward continuous, operation‐based governance using the recovery–discovery framework to track, constrain, and responsibly steer ...

Sustainable Materials Design With Multi‐Modal Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Critical mineral scarcity, high embodied carbon, and persistent pollution from materials processing intensify the need for sustainable materials design. This review frames the problem as multi‐objective optimization under heterogeneous, high‐dimensional evidence and highlights multi‐modal AI as an enabling pathway.

A Hydrogen Sulfide–Releasing Dynamic Hydrogel Modulates Coordinated Neurovascular, Immune, and Angiogenic Responses for Scar‐Suppressed Diabetic Wound Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ROS‐Responsive H2S Hydrogel (HAPPF) Coordinated Regeneration for High‐Quality Diabetic Wound Repair.A self‐regulating dynamic hydrogel is developed to deliver a fluorogenic H2S donor in response to excessive ROS. Released H2S acts as a master regulator to resolve chronic inflammation (M2 polarization), restore VEGF‐driven angiogenesis, and rebalance ...

Deep Learning Network‐Tailored Microenvironment Matching of 4D Bioprinting Bioactive Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.

Longitudinal Single‐Axon‐Resolution Imaging of Peripheral Nerve Injury Response in Mice Using an Optical Window Implant

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A minimally invasive optical window enables stable, long‐term imaging of peripheral nerves in vivo at single‐axon resolution. Dynamic processes of degeneration, regeneration, and cellular remodeling are visualized across multiple time scales within the same nerve region, providing a unique platform to study a variety of anatomical and molecular events ...

Consideration of reinforced concrete crushing through cohesive models

open access: yesRevista IBRACON de Estruturas e Materiais
In this work, the overlapping crack mode is considered. It permits the modeling of concrete crushing through cohesive surfaces, in a similar way used to simulate fracture.

Crush injury and crush syndrome: a comprehensive review

open access: yesEFORT Open Reviews
Abstract Crush injury arises from prolonged external force on soft tissues, resulting in muscle necrosis and systemic manifestations known as crush syndrome. Pathophysiology involves ischemia, reperfusion injury and the release of toxic metabolites, which lead to rhabdomyolysis, electrolyte imbalances, acute kidney injury and ...

Comparative Study on Mechanical Properties of a Tube-Crushing Dissipator and a Symmetric Tube-Crushing Dissipator

open access: yes, 2019
The tube-crushing dissipator is widely used in engineering, but it has the eccentricity problem. Therefore, a symmetric tube-crushing dissipator was proposed in this article, and quasistatic and dynamic tests were performed to compare mechanical ...
