CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF A CATASTROPHIC MUDFLOWS ON 28 JUNE 2014 NEAR ARSHAN VILLAGE IN THE REPUBLIC OF BURYATIA, RUSSIA

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2015
On 28 June 2014, Arshan village and its heath resort facilities suffered from a shock descent of mudflows from Tunka Goltsy in the Republic of Buryatia, Russia. In this region, the last mudflow descent was recorded in 1971.

The Effect of Nanocellulose Content in Hydrogel Nanocomposites on the Strength of the Crusts (Case Study: Sand Dune Sample of Abuzidabad Siazgeh Desert) [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم آب و خاک, 2023
Maintaining soil structure and stability is essential, especially in arid and semi-arid regions with poor soil structural stability. Destruction of soil and its crust can cause wind erosion and desertification.

AN OVERVIEW OF THE TECHNIQUE FOR SEISMICITY MICROZONATION MAPPING OF THE ULAN‐UDE CITY TERRITORY

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2015
For purposes of seismicity microzonation of the Ulan‐Ude city territory, engineering geophysical studies are conducted to reveal which types of rocks and soils are dominant in the study area and to classify them by site‐specific velocities of P‐ and S ...

Volcanism and intrusive magmatism of the Magnitogorsk paleoarc in the epoch of its “soft” collision with a margin of the East European continent

open access: yesЛитосфера, 2020
Research subject. The article sets out to investigate the change of the geodynamic regime from the island-arc type to the accretionary-collisional type in the Late Devonian–Early Carboniferous, which occurred as a result of 1) a collision between the ...

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

Seismic anisotropy: an original tool to understand the geodynamic evolution of the Italian peninsula

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 1997
Anisotropy is a common property of the Earth's crust and the upper mantle; it is related to the strain field of the medium and therefore to geodynamics. In this paper we describe the different possible origins of anisotropic behavior of the seismic waves

Multiple Twinning in Nacre and Aragonite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electron backscatter diffraction map of a cluster of geologic aragonite, exhibiting single, double, and triple twins. The whole cluster is approximately 2 cm wide. Colors indicate crystal orientations, so that pixels where the a‐, b‐, and c‐axis is perpendicular to the image plane are green, red, and blue, respectively.
