Machine Learning‐Assisted KCl‐CaCl2‐LiCl Electrolyte Design for Low‐Temperature, High‐Performance Calcium‐Based Liquid Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A machine learning‐assisted framework optimizes the KCl‐CaCl2‐LiCl ternary electrolyte. The optimized 13:35:52 mol% composition enables Ca‐based liquid metal batteries to operate stably at 480 °C, with >99.5% coulombic efficiency, ultralow self‐discharge, and excellent cycling stability, advancing low‐temperature large‐scale energy storage.

The role of crustal and mantle sources in the genesis of granitoids of the Antarctic Peninsula and adjacent crustal blocks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Magmatic rocks from the Antarctic Peninsula show marked variations in isotope composition, which reflect changes in the geodynamic evolution of the peninsula through time. Most Antarctic Peninsula granitoids formed as a result of subduction: they fall on

Fabrication of Composite Cathode for All‐Solid‐State Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The design of composite cathodes for all‐solid‐state sodium batteries must address three critical challenges—interfacial side reactions, interfacial delamination, and highly tortuous transport pathways. This work outlines structural and interfacial strategies to optimize ion transport and mechanical stability, enabling durable, and high‐performance ...

The role of detachment faulting in the genesis of oceanic felsic melts

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Oceanic detachments are deep-rooted, long-lived, plate-scale structures and serve as fluid conduits introducing water into the oceanic lithosphere, impacting plate rheology and potentially inducing oceanic crustal melting.

Partial Melting of Lower Oceanic Crust Gabbro: Constraints From Poikilitic Clinopyroxene Primocrysts

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2018
Successive magma batches underplate, ascend, stall and erupt along spreading ridges, building the oceanic crust. It is therefore important to understand the processes and conditions under which magma differentiates at mid ocean ridges.

The influence of surface clinker on the crustal structures and dynamics of 'a'ā lava flows. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Surface structures on 'a'ā and blocky lavas reflect the internal flow dynamics during emplacement and also influence the dynamics of developing flows.

A Highly Depleted and Subduction‐Modified Mantle Beneath the Slow‐Spreading Mohns Ridge

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2022
The Mohns Ridge is a very slow‐spreading ridge that, together with the Knipovich Ridge, marks the boundary between the North American and Eurasian plates in the Norwegian‐Greenland Sea.
