Rapid Separation of Human Hemoglobin on a Large Scale From Non-clarified Bacterial Cell Homogenates Using Molecularly Imprinted Composite Cryogels

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2021
The production of a macroporous hydrogel column, known as cryogel, has been scaled up (up to 150 mL) in this work for the purification of human hemoglobin from non-clarified bacterial homogenates.

Supermacroporous Composite Cryogels in Biomedical Applications [PDF]

open access: yesGels, 2019
Supermacroporous gels, called cryogels, are unique scaffolds that can be prepared by polymerization of monomer solution under sub-zero temperatures. They are widely used in many applications and have significant potential biomaterials, especially for biomedical applications due to their inherent interconnected supermacroporous structures and easy ...

Synthetic Amphoteric Cryogels as an Antidote against Acute Heavy Metal Poisoning

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
The effectiveness of an amphoteric cryogel (AAC) as an oral sorbent (enerosorbent) for the treatment of acute poisoning of small animals (rats) with heavy metals (HMs) was studied in in vivo experiments.

Biocompatible hydroxyapatite/polyvinyl alcohol cryogel materials for bone tissue rgeneration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Behavior of a cryogel of polyvinyl alcohol mineralized with calcium phosphates and the quality of bone formation was investigated in vivo in a Wistar rat strain that was formed by bone defects in the proximal metaphysis of both tibia, one of which was ...

Poly-()-histidine immobilized cryogels for lysozyme purification

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2016
Immobilized metal ion affinity chromatography is one of the methods used for the adsorption of proteins. In this study, poly(glycidyl methacrylate) cryogel discs were prepared by free radical polymerization.

Study of locust bean gum reinforced cyst-chitosan and oxidized dextran based semi-IPN cryogel dressing for hemostatic application

open access: yesBioactive Materials, 2018
Severe blood loss due to traumatic injuries remains one of the leading causes of death in emergency settings. Chitosan continues to be the candidate material for hemostatic applications due to its inherent hemostatic properties.

Photothermal Macroporous Lignin Cryogels for Off‐Grid, Continuous Atmospheric Water Collection via Interlayer Heat Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photothermal, macroporous lignin‐based cryogels are engineered to convert sunlight into low‐grade heat. Integrated as stacked beds in a drum‐type device, a thin copper interlayer transfers waste heat between beds, enabling interlayer heat recovery and continuous solar cycling.
