Structuring of water solutions of polyvinyl alcohol by physical and chemical methods [PDF]
Multifunctional materials based on an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol were prepared and investigated. The materials were obtained by physical and chemical cross-linking, resulting in cryogels and hydrogels, respectively.

Three‐dimensional cryogels for biomedical applications
AbstractCryogels are a subset of hydrogels synthesized under sub‐zero temperatures: initially solvents undergo active freezing, which causes crystal formation, which is then followed by active melting to create interconnected supermacropores. Cryogels possess several attributes suited for their use as bioscaffolds, including physical resilience, bio ...

Sustainable pectin monolith cryogels
The subject of this work is synthesis and characterization of pectin-based cryogels obtained by internal crosslinking with calcium ions. The crosslinking reaction was confirmed by FTIR/ATR analysis, while SEM analysis demonstrated that pores of obtained cryogel were in macro range (between 130 and 380 µm).
