Aluminum alloys for ALS cryogenic tanks :

open access: yes, 1993
Tensile and fracture toughness were obtained at cryogenic temperatures to compare the Al-Li alloys 8090, 2090, and WL049, and alloy 2219 in various tempers and specimen orientations. The strongest alloy at very low temperatures is WL049-T851, which is about 10 percent stronger than 2090-T81. Both alloys are considerably stronger than 2219-T87.

Airships for transporting highly volatile commodities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Large airships may prove feasible as carriers of commodities that move as gases or cryogenic liquids; buoyant gaseous cargo could be ballasted with liquid cargo.

Cryogenic TDS Platform for Quantitative Hydrogen Isotope (H2/D2/HD) Separation via Quantum Sieving in Porous Materials

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The AC‐TDS enables precise hydrogen isotope analysis over a wide temperature range (15–900 K), allowing both physisorption and chemisorption processes to be investigated under gas exposure conditions. Through calibration, this system achieves reliable quantitative desorption analysis, including direct quantification of H2, D2, and HD under mixed ...

Large‐Scale Hydrogen Storage: Surface and Subsurface Challenges

open access: yesChemBioEng Reviews, Volume 13, Issue 2, April 2026.
This review examines underground hydrogen storage with emphasis on the interaction between surface facilities and subsurface reservoirs. Variable renewable hydrogen requires compression, buffering, and purification before injection, while subsurface processes influence wellhead pressure, temperature, and composition.

Advancement in Anaerobic Digestion for Scaling‐Up Biogas Production Through Food Waste Valorization

open access: yesChemBioEng Reviews, Volume 13, Issue 2, April 2026.
The review article begins with an introduction that covers the overview, food waste (FW) classification, and the steps involved in producing biogas through anaerobic digestion (AD). Following that, it describes the process for producing biogas, including single‐, two‐, and multistage systems, mesophilic and thermophilic digestion, and wet and dry ...
