MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Achieving synergistic improvement of wear and mechanical properties in Ti–6Al–4V alloy by multiple cryogenic treatment

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Ti–6Al–4V alloy was subjected to cryogenic treatment at −196 °C followed by single and multiple treatment cycles. Compression tests revealed that, despite a decrease in yield strength, cryogenically treated samples (especially by multiple cryogenic ...

Shallow cryogenic treatment: effect on the corrosion resistance and hardness properties of AA5083-H111 alloy in chloride-ions enriched medium

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2021
The influence of cryogenic and cryogenic time (10, 24, 36, 48, and 72 h) on the hardness, surface roughness, and corrosion resistance properties of AA5083-H111 alloy in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution have been investigated. The hardness property was analysed via

Unprecedented Spin‐Lifetime of Itinerant Electrons in Natural Graphite Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graphite exhibits extraordinary spintronic potential, with electron spin lifetimes reaching 1,000 ns at room temperature ‐ over 100 times longer than graphene‐based devices. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy reveals strong anisotropy: out‐of‐plane spins live 50 times longer than their in‐plane counterparts.

Optical absorption of ion-beam sputtered amorphous silicon coatings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Low mechanical loss at low temperatures and a high index of refraction should make silicon optimally suited for thermal noise reduction in highly reflective mirror coatings for gravitational wave detectors.

Cryogenic Focused Ion Beam Milling to Investigate the Anisotropic Magnetotransport Properties of Bismuth Microcrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The highly anisotropic Fermi surface of bismuth results in variations in magnetotransport properties across different crystallographic directions, which can be characterized by studying microcrystals. To avoid the observed surface melting under room temperature Focused Ion Beam (FIB) irradiation, two low‐temperature FIB fabrication methods are proposed

Effect of cryogenic-thermal cycling treatment on tribological properties of Ti-based amorphous alloy

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2022
The wear resistance of titanium alloy is poor, the preparation of amorphous alloy coating on the surface of titanium alloy moving parts is a choice to maintain the advantages of titanium alloy and improve its wear resistance.
