Dynamic Analysis and Experimental Verification of a Multi-Degree-of-Freedom Eddy Current Damper in a Cryogenic Environment

open access: yesIEEE Access
Reusable rockets are under development and have received considerable attention. The large rockets and reusable vehicles under development in Japan use liquid hydrogen, and their turbopumps require high-speed rotation.

Photosensitizing Lipid Nanoparticles for Ferroptosis‐Enhanced Photodynamic Cancer Therapy via GPX4 Silencing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Photosensitizing lipid nanoparticles (PLNPs) are engineered by incorporating cholesterol–PEG–pheophorbide a into MC3‐based LNPs and encapsulating GPX4‐targeting siRNA. Upon light activation, PLNPs generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) while silencing GPX4 to induce ferroptosis.

Performance Boost in Industrial Multifilamentary Nb3Sn Wires due to Radiation Induced Pinning Centers

open access: yes, 2015
We report non-Cu critical current densities of 4.09 * 10^9 A/m^2 at 12 T and 2.27 * 10^9 A/m^2 at 15 T obtained from transport measurements on a Ti-alloyed RRP Nb3Sn wire after irradiation to a fast neutron fluence of 8.9 * 10^21 m^-2.

Nano‐Engineered Titanium Implants Loaded With Gingival Fibroblasts‐Derived Microvesicles Enhance Early Osseointegration And Soft Tissue Attachment In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our study showed that human primary gingival fibroblast–derived microvesicles on nano‐engineered titanium implants promote early osseointegration and soft‐tissue attachment in vivo. ABSTRACT Titanium dental implants require both reliable osseointegration and peri‐implant soft tissue seal formation to ensure long‐term success. While osseointegration has

Research on loss differences and thermal optimisation of submerged cryogenic high‐speed permanent magnet motors

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
The utilisation of high‐speed motors in cryogenic motors achieves high efficiency and rapid transmission of cryogenic media, and at the same time, the high loss characteristic of high‐speed motors enhances the vaporisation rate of cryogenic media and ...

Superfluid Helium Flow in Porous Media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Superfluid helium is primarily used in the field of applied superconductivity. Given the complexity of the magnet geometry and the scales involved, a real 3D simulation of heat transfer in such devices at the micro-channel scale is very difficult, even ...

Automating Vascular Biology: An End‐to‐End Automated Workflow for High‐Throughput Blood Vessel‐on‐a‐Chip Production and Multi‐Site Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
AngioPlate384 is a 384‐well open‐top platform that automates production of more than 100 miniaturized, perfusable blood vessels embedded in hydrogel and supported by stromal cells. Stromal‐endothelial co‐culture strengthens blood vessel barrier function and yields responses useful for translational planning. Scalable and automation‐ready, it suits drug

From RNA to DNA: How Cargo Identity Reprograms Lipid Nanoparticle Architecture and Function

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The evolution of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) spans from RNA‐LNPs, used in mRNA vaccines, to DNA‐LNPs, ideal for gene therapies. Emerging bionano architectures, decorated with DNA and plasma proteins, pave the way for advanced DNA‐based therapies that are more stable, targeted, and customizable.

Gauge factor of thick film resistors: outcomes of the variable range hopping model

open access: yes, 2000
Despite a large amount of data and numerous theoretical proposals, the microscopic mechanism of transport in thick film resistors remains unclear. However, recent low temperature measurements point toward a possible variable range hopping mechanism of ...
