Cryptinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) fauna of Isfahan Province of central Iran

A survey on the fauna of the Cryptinae of Isfahan Province was carried out in the summer of 2012. Specimens were collected using Malaise traps and sweeping nets. Nine species belonging to 9 genera of Cryptinae occurring in Isfahan Province were collected and identified. Among them, 7 species have been recorded from Iran previously.

AbstractThree new Cryptinae (Ichneumonidae: Hymenoptera) are described from Canada: Cryptus leechi from Arctic Canada and northern Greenland, Mastrus laplantei attacking Diprionidae and Lepidoptera from coast to coast in the lumbering areas, and Medophron dytiscivorus from a Dytiscidae pupa in Ontario.

Abstract Faunistic data for 26 species of Brachycyrtinae and Cryptinae are given. Of these, the subfamily Brachycyrtinae and 18 Cryptinae species are new for the Iranian fauna. A zoogeographic characterisation is proposed for each species.
