A checklist of Iranian Cryptinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) for all species recorded in Iran is given. The list is based on detailed studies of all available published data and some new collected samples. Until now 123 species in 42 genera belonging to 3 tribes of this subfamily have been known from Iran.

Cryptinae Notes This subfamily, similar to Phygadeuontinae, has a large diversity of idiobiont ectoparasitoids of more or less concealed hosts, which consist of a wide variety of host orders (Broad et al. 2018). Multiple hibernation strategies are used as demonstrated in the species below.
