Secondary Organising Pneumonia Among Immunocompromised Multiple Sclerosis Patients Treated With Ocrelizumab Following COVID‐19 Infection: Two Case Reports With Literature Review

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2025.
We describe two cases of biopsy‐proven secondary OP in ocrelizumab‐treated MS patients occurring several weeks after contracting COVID‐19 infection. These patients had been on ocrelizumab for 6.5 years (latent period) before the development of OP. Withdrawal of ocrelizumab and corticosteroids resulted in clinical and radiographic recovery.

Clinical decision instruments for predicting mortality in patients with cirrhosis seeking emergency department care

open access: yesAcademic Emergency Medicine, Volume 32, Issue 6, Page 604-618, June 2025.
Abstract Objective Clinical decision instruments (CDIs) could be useful to aid risk stratification and disposition of emergency department (ED) patients with cirrhosis. Our primary objective was to derive and internally validate a novel Cirrhosis Risk Instrument for Stratifying Post‐Emergency department mortality (CRISPE) for the outcomes of 14‐ and 30‐

Noninvasive Evaluation of Prolonged‐Release Pirfenidone in Compensated Liver Cirrhosis. ODISEA Study, a Randomised Trial

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 45, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Advanced liver fibrosis (ALF) predicts an adverse prognosis in chronic liver disease. In addition to etiological treatment, a new approach to stop or reverse residual fibrosis is desirable. Objective To assess the efficacy and safety of prolonged‐release pirfenidone (PR‐PFD) versus placebo in compensated cirrhosis.

Impact of A Multidisciplinary Team Discussion for Genetic Lung Fibrosis

open access: yesRespirology, Volume 30, Issue 6, Page 523-532, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Objective Approximately 30% of individuals diagnosed with familial pulmonary fibrosis (FPF) exhibit a pathogenic variant upon genetic analysis. We established a genetic Multidisciplinary Discussion (geneMDD) aimed to enhance expertise in diagnosing and managing FPF.

Diagnostic Significance of Metagenomic Next‐Generation Sequencing in Immunocompromised Patients With Suspected Pulmonary Infection

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 175, Issue 1, Page 112-122, May 2025.
Our study evaluates the diagnostic value of metagenomic next‐generation sequencing (mNGS) in immunocompromised patients with suspected pulmonary infections. mNGS showed superior sensitivity over conventional methods, especially in identifying mixed infections in organ transplant recipients and patients with low lymphocyte counts.
