Though most people think they are science fiction, quantum cryptography systems are now operational, with prototypes protecting Internet traffic across metropolitan areas. These systems are so novel that we can consider quantum cryptography, or more properly, quantum key distribution (QKD), as the third and final insight to transform cryptography in ...

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

To solve the limitations of reversible data hiding in encrypted domains (RDH-ED) that cannot be applied to a distributed variable security environment, a novel RDH-ED scheme based on variable threshold image secret sharing (VTSIS) is proposed. Initially,

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

ENCRYPTION ALGORITHMS FOR DATABASES [PDF]
For most cases, people use an ecrypted mode when sending personal information to a server, via an electronic form. Whenever shopping is done online, the browser uses cryptographic methods to send to the server the credit card number and private ...
