Photoluminescent UV Light Modulation via Anisometric Carbon Nanodots for UV–Visible Shutter and UV Sensor

Advanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Anisometric carbon nanodots are synthesized directly from a liquid crystal precursor and embedded into polymer network liquid crystals to create soft, multifunctional photonic films. These hybrid devices exhibit polarized photoluminescence, broad UV absorption, and fast, electrically tunable light modulation.

Photonic Engineering Enables All‐Passive Upconversion Imaging with Low‐Intensity Near‐Infrared Light

A passive upconversion imaging system enables the observation of scenes illuminated by low‐intensity incoherent near‐infrared light from 750 to 930 nm, by converting it into the visible without the use of external power. Ion and Solvent Dynamics in Charged 2D Clay Nanoslits with Unprecedented Ångström‐Precise Slit Height Control

The slit height of fluorohectorite 2D‐nanochannels is tuned with Å‐precision (2.4–250 Å). Slit‐height‐dependent ion and water mobilities are quantified by applying EIS, PFG‐NMR, and SFG‐NMR with MD simulations guiding interpretation. Diffuse properties are investigated with CP‐AFM, MD, and PB.
