Crystalline Retinopathy

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1978
A 34-year-old woman had crystalline dystrophy of the retina associated with atrophy of the choriocapillaris and pigment epithelium, and pigment clumping in the fundus periphery. Consanguinity of her parents suggested an autosomal recessive inheritance pattern for this type of crystalline retinal dystrophy. The patient did not have corneal crystals. Her

Crystalline Carbon Nitride Semiconductors for Photocatalytic Water Splitting.

Angewandte Chemie, 2019
Conjugated carbon nitride (CN) is an emerging and promising semiconductor photocatalyst for water photolysis owing to its unique properties. However, the traditional thermally induced polymerization of N-containing precursors typically produces melon ...

Crystalline solids

Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2001
Many drugs exist in the crystalline solid state due to reasons of stability and ease of handling during the various stages of drug development. Crystalline solids can exist in the form of polymorphs, solvates or hydrates. Phase transitions such as polymorph interconversion, desolvation of solvate, formation of hydrate and conversion of crystalline to ...

Crystalline coloboma

Archivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología (English Edition), 2015
We present a seventy-three year-old female diagnosed with lens coloboma when she was going to be operated on for cataracts. The incidence of congenital coloboma of the eye is estimated to be 0.5 per 10000 newborns in Spain, 1.4 in France, 2.6 in United States, and 7.5 in China. The diagnosis is clinical by observing the defect.

CRYSTALLINE GRAVITY

International Journal of Modern Physics A, 2009
Matter interacting classically with gravity in 3+1 dimensions usually gives rise to a continuum of degrees of freedom, so that, in any attempt to quantize the theory, ultraviolet divergences are nearly inevitable. Here, we investigate a theory that only displays a finite number of degrees of freedom in compact sections of space-time. In finite domains,

Crystalline polysaccharides: A review.

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2021
The biodegradability and mechanical properties of polysaccharides are dependent on their architecture (linear or branched) as well as their crystallinity (size of crystals and crystallinity percent).

Crystalline Retinopathies

Survey of Ophthalmology, 2006
Many types of crystalline retinopathies have been described, associated with a myriad of medical conditions ranging from chronic retinal conditions to inherited systemic diseases. This comprehensive review summarizes the different types of crystalline retinopathies, including their clinical presentations, diagnostic criteria, pathology, and treatment ...

Alpha-crystallin

Experimental Eye Research, 2003
Alpha A and alpha B-crystallins are a major protein component of the mammalian eye lens. Being a member of the small heat-shock protein family they possess chaperone-like function. The alpha-crystallins and especially alpha B is also found outside the lens having an extensive tissue distribution. Alpha B-crystallin is found to be over-expressed in many
