Chiral metal cluster-mediated chirality transfer in light-harvesting nanoribbons for amplified circularly polarized luminescence

open access: yesNature Communications
The construction of artificial light-harvesting systems (LHSs) with continuous chirality transfer is of great significance to deeply comprehend the hierarchical evolution in nature.

Order-disorder phase change in embedded Si nano-particles

open access: yes, 2011
We investigated the relative stability of the amorphous vs crystalline nanoparticles of size ranging between 0.8 and 1.8 nm. We found that, at variance from bulk systems, at low T small nanoparticles are amorphous and they undergo to an amorphous-to ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

On the metallicity dependence of crystalline silicates in oxygen-rich asymptotic giant branch stars and red supergiants

open access: yes, 2012
We investigate the occurrence of crystalline silicates in oxygen-rich evolved stars across a range of metallicities and mass-loss rates. It has been suggested that the crystalline silicate feature strength increases with increasing mass-loss rate ...

Dynamical crystal creation with polar molecules or Rydberg atoms in optical lattices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the dynamical formation of crystalline states with systems of polar molecules or Rydberg atoms loaded into a deep optical lattice. External fields in these systems can be used to couple the atoms or molecules between two internal states ...

Quantization of fractional corner charge in Cn -symmetric higher-order topological crystalline insulators [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical review B, 2018
In the presence of crystalline symmetries, certain topological insulators present a filling anomaly: a mismatch between the number of electrons in an energy band and the number of electrons required for charge neutrality.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Development of binary dispersions and nanocomposites of irbesartan with enhanced antihypertensive activity [PDF]

open access: yesBioImpacts, 2020
Introduction: Irbesartan (IBS), an angiotensin II receptor (AT1 subtype) antagonist which blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II by selective binding to AT1 angiotensin II receptor. It belongs to BCS class II drug (
