AbstractBoragermene 3 featuring a double bond between the Ge and dicoordinate B atoms has been synthesized for the first time by reacting the cyclic (alkyl)(boryl)germylene–PMe3 adduct 1 with Cl2BN(SiMe3)2 followed by reductive dehalogenation with KC8.

We show that exotic phases arise in generalized lattice gauge theories known as quantum link models in which classical gauge fields are replaced by quantum operators. While these quantum models with discrete variables have a finite-dimensional Hilbert space per link, the continuous gauge symmetry is still exact.

Utilization of blue crab shells for the synthesis of chitosan nanoparticles and their characterization [PDF]
Chitosan, a useful biopolymer, was obtained from pulverized shells of blue crabs via demineralization, deproteination and de-acetylation. The chitosan was converted to nanoparticles using sodium tripolyphosphate (TPP).

Structural investigations of poly(ethylene terephthalate)- graft-polystyrene copolymer films [PDF]
Structural investigations of poly(ethylene terephthalate)-graft-polystyrene (PET-g-PS) films prepared by radiation-induced grafting of styrene onto commercial poly- (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) films were carried out by FTIR, X-ray diffraction (XRD ...

Study of crystallization behavior of poly(phenylene sulfide)
Poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) is an engineering thermoplastic polymer that presents high temperature resistance (glass transition temperature around 85 ºC and melting point at 285 ºC). These properties combined with its mechanical properties and its high

Crystallinity versus mass-loss rate in Asymptotic Giant Branch stars [PDF]
Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) observations have shown that O-rich Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars exhibit crystalline silicate features in their spectra only if their mass-loss rate is higher than a certain threshold value.

The imprint of photoevaporation on edge-on discs [PDF]
We have performed hydrodynamic and radiative transfer calculations of a photoevaporating disc around a Herbig Ae/Be star to determine the evolution and observational impact of dust entrained in the wind.
