Synthesis and characterization of a novel Y-Fe phase via kinetic neutron diffraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Kinetic in situ neutron diffraction has been used to study the crystallization of amorphous Y67Fe33. The results show that partial crystallization first occurs close to 300 ◦C where the Y phase is formed.

Crystallization of Crystalline/Crystalline Symmetric Polymer Blends Studied by Dynamic Monte Carlo Simulations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
In this paper, we report dynamic Monte Carlo simulation results on the crystallization of crystalline/crystalline (A/B) symmetric binary polymer blend, wherein the melting temperature of A-polymer is higher than B-polymer. Crystallization of A-polymer precedes the crystallization of B-polymer upon cooling from a homogeneous melt.

Suppressing convection strength using confinement during protein crystallization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Fluid convection during protein crystallization plays a significant role in determining crystal growth rate and crystal quality. Crystals grown in reduced flow strength gives better quality crystal. Hence, tuning the flow strength is very essential in the crystal growth process.

Morphology Development in Model Polyethylene via Two-Dimensional Correlation Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Two-dimensional (2D) correlation analysis is applied to synchrotron X-ray scattering data to characterize morphological regimes during nonisothermal crystallization of a model ethylene copolymer (hydrogenated polybutadiene, HPBD).

Crystallization of DNA-coated colloids

open access: yesNature Communications, 2015
DNA-coated colloids hold great promise for self-assembly of programmed heterogeneous microstructures, provided they not only bind when cooled below their melting temperature, but also rearrange so that aggregated particles can anneal into the structure ...

Towards quality by design in pharmaceutical manufacturing: modelling and control of air jet mills

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
Milling is an important step in pharmaceutical manufacturing as it not only determines the final formulation of the drug product, but also influences the bioavailability and dissolution rate of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). In this respect,

The glass transition and crystallization kinetic studies on BaNaB9O15 glasses

open access: yes, 2009
Transparent glasses of BaNaB9O15 (BNBO) were fabricated via the conventional melt-quenching technique. The amorphous and the glassy nature of the as-quenched samples were respectively, confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning

Secondary Crystallization of Isotactic Polystyrene [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
When isotactic polystyrene (i-PS) is crystallized from the melt or from the glassy state at rather large supercooling an additional melting peak appears on the curve during scanning in a differential calorimeter.

Crystal Morphology Prediction Models and Regulating Methods

open access: yesCrystals
Growing high-quality crystals with ideal properties is of great importance. The morphology of crystal is one key factor reflecting product quality, as it can affect the performance of products and downstream operations. In this work, the current state of
