Synthesis and characterization of a novel Y-Fe phase via kinetic neutron diffraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Kinetic in situ neutron diffraction has been used to study the crystallization of amorphous Y67Fe33. The results show that partial crystallization first occurs close to 300 ◦C where the Y phase is formed.

Effect of an oxide cap layer and fluorine implantation on the metal-induced lateral crystallization of amorphous silicon

open access: yes, 2012
In this work, we investigate the effect of oxide cap layer on the metal-induced lateral crystallization (MILC) of amorphous silicon. The MILC is characterized at temperatures in the range 550 to 428°C using Nomarski optical microscopy and Raman ...

Timescales of crystallization and viscous flow of the bulk glass-forming Zr-Ti-Ni-Cu-Be alloys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Crystallization behavior and equilibrium viscosity of a series of alloys in the Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni-Be system are studied using multiple techniques to determine the various contributions to glass-forming ability.

Correlation between Grafting Density and Confined Crystallization Behavior of Poly(ethylene glycol) Grafted to Silica [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The interfacial interactions of polymer-nanoparticles have dramatical effects on the crystallization behavior of grafted polymers. In this study, methoxy polyethylene glycol (MPEG) (molecular weights 750, 2000 and 4000 g mol−1) was grafted onto amino ...

Optical quantum computer based on RDS crystal [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2001
We have proposed the construction of optical quantum computer (OQC) on regular domain structure (RDS) crystal. By using RDS crystal, we can perform all the logical operations on one RDS crystal. Moreover, RDS crystals are parctically independent to the heating effects i.e., can perform logic operations constantly without cooling the RDS crystal.

Heterogeneous Nucleation Effect of N, N'-Adipic Bis(4-phenylbutyric Acid) Dihydrazide on Crystallization Process of Poly(L-lactic Acid)

open access: yesMedžiagotyra, 2019
Enhancing crystallization ability is a fundamental challenges in Poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) industry, therefore, the goal of this work was to synthesis a new organic nucleating agent N, N'-adipic bis(4-phenylbutyric acid) dihydrazide (APAD), and ...

Half Potential on Geometric Crystals and Connectedness of Cellular Crystals [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
For any simple complex algebraic group, we define upper/lower half-decorated geometric crystals and show that their tropicalization will be upper/lower normal Kashiwara's crystals. In particular, we show that the tropicalization of the half-decorated geometric crystal on the big Bruhat cell(=$B^-_{w_0}:=B^-\cap U\bar w_0 U$) is isomorphic to the ...

Crystal engineering. From molecules to crystals [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section A Foundations of Crystallography, 2011
How do molecules aggregate in solution, and how do these aggregates consolidate themselves in crystals? What is the relationship between the structure of a molecule and the structure of the crystal it forms? Why do some molecules adopt more than one crystal structure? Why do some crystal structures contain solvent?

The Stirring Effect on the Crystal Morphology of p-Acetamidobenzoic Acid Solution Crystallization

open access: yesCrystals
This work investigates the stirring effect on p-Acetamidobenzoic Acid (p -AABA) crystal morphology through single crystal cultivation, crystal face growth rate, and nucleation supersaturation measurements, molecular simulation (MS), and computational ...
