Anaesthetic management of a horse with acute kidney injury
Summary Anaesthetic management of animals with acute kidney injuries (AKI) is complex and poses considerable risk. There are no publications describing management of anaesthetised horses with AKI. Perioperative and anaesthetic care of a Thoroughbred filly presented with traumatic injuries and subsequent AKI is described.

Optimal myocardial preservation with an acalcemic crystalloid cardioplegic solution
The effect of the calcium and oxygen contents of a hyperkalemic glucose-containing cardioplegic solution on myocardial preservation was examined in the isolated working rat heart. The cardioplegic solution was delivered at 4 degrees C every 15 minutes during 2 hours of arrest, maintaining a myocardial temperature of 8 degrees +/- 2 degrees C.

Giant Hepatobiliary Cystadenoma Requiring Biliary Reconstruction in a Cat: A Case Report

Complete excision required partial common bile duct resection followed by tension‐free end‐to‐end anastomosis. Recovery was uncomplicated, and no recurrence or clinically evident anastomosis‐related complication was detected at the 3‐month follow ...
