Radiology, 1985Widespread use of radionuclides in medicine and industry poses the possibility of radiation accidents. We describe such an occurrence involving three industrial workers. The accident resulted from careless handling of a Cs-137 source. Evaluation of the Cs-137 whole body burden was carried out using stationary and scanning whole body counters.

Until the Chernobyl accident the fallout nuclides studied originated from nuclear weapons tests. After this accident some fresh fallout was deposited in Finnish Lapland.

Najzanimljiviji radioaktivni izotop cezija je Cs-137 koji je u većim količinama dospio u okoliš cijele zemaljske kugle u drugoj polovici 20-og stoljeća te nakon nesreće u Černobilu.
