Heterogeneity in Food Price Inflation Convergence Across the EU: Evidence From Club Dynamics and Structural Breaks

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines food price inflation rate convergence among EU27 Member States from 2005 to 2024, focusing on structural breaks, external shocks, and regional disparities. Using panel unit root tests and club convergence analysis, the findings reveal no overall convergence but identify multiple convergence clubs.

Monitoring and control of a continuous, integrated filtration‐drying system with in‐line mass spectrometry via PharmaPy

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This article demonstrates the integration of in‐line mass spectrometry as a process analytical technology (PAT) tool with model‐based soft sensors in a continuous filtration‐drying carousel system for solid–liquid separation (SLS) of crystal slurries.

Molecular dynamics of 18-crown-6 complexes with alkali-metal cations and urea: Prediction of their conformations and comparison with data from the cambridge structural database [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Complexes of 18-crown-6 with alkali-metal cations (Na+, K+, and Rb+), urea, and the uncomplexed crown ether were studied in vacuo with the molecular dynamics method. Conformational data from these calculations (simulation times in the range from 6-15 ns)

Technoeconomic and sustainability analysis of batch and continuous crystallization for pharmaceutical manufacturing

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract In pharmaceutical industries, continuous manufacturing methods have already been well established to improve productivity and process intensification. However, to better understand the trade‐offs of continuous crystallizers over the existing batch production systems, a robust technoeconomic cost and sustainability analysis is necessary to ...

Evidence for convergent nucleotide evolution and high allelic turnover rates at the complementary sex determiner (csd) gene of western and Asian honey bees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Our understanding of the impact of recombination, mutation, genetic drift and selection on the evolution of a single gene is still limited. Here we investigate the impact of all of these evolutionary forces at the complementary sex determiner (csd) gene ...

Structure and Spectroscopic Characterisation of Phenanthroline‐Based Iodobismuthate(III) Complexes Utilised for Raw Acoustic Signal Classification

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Memristors based on trimethylsulfonium (phenanthroline)tetraiodobismuthate have been utilised as a nonlinear node in a delayed feedback reservoir. This system allowed an efficient classification of acoustic signals, namely differentiation of vocalisation of the brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula).
