The role of generative AI in collaborative problem‐solving of authentic challenges

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates undergraduate and postgraduate teamwork in a four‐week ‘Generative AI for Social Good’ hackathon, focusing on how students use GAI tools in authentic problem‐solving within their learning ecology. It examines the factors that foster productive collaboration and explores evidence of AI extending human cognition beyond ...

A balance between stability and flexibility: Adaptive patterns of self‐regulated learning processes shape game‐based learning

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract To ensure learning efficiency in game‐based learning (GBL), learners must regulate cognitive, affective, metacognitive and motivational (CAMM) processes, collectively known as self‐regulated learning (SRL). SRL is dynamic and non‐linear, characterized by regulatory patterns and CAMM interactions that lead to macro‐level SRL behaviours. In this

Intermittent cocaine use patterns, not total intake, predict cue‐induced drug seeking in rats

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Cocaine‐associated cues trigger relapse to drug use in humans and animal models. In rats, long daily cocaine access (4–6 vs. 1–2 h) increases drug self‐administration and cue‐induced cocaine seeking, suggesting that greater intake promotes relapse.

NRF2/xCT‐Mediated Antioxidant Adaptation Attenuates Apoptosis Induced by ASCT2 Inhibition in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
ASCT2 inhibition induces ROS accumulation and activates NRF2‐dependent xCT upregulation in prostate cancer. This adaptive response partially supports residual cystine acquisition and glutathione synthesis, whereas combined ASCT2 and xCT inhibition disrupts redox compensation and predominantly promotes apoptotic cell death.

Being a Care Leaver Is a Whole Different Experience: Mothering and Help‐Seeking Among Young Women Ageing Out of Out‐Of‐Home Care

open access: yesChild &Family Social Work, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In Australia, young care leavers experience poorer outcomes across multiple life domains compared to their non‐care‐experienced peers, including an overrepresentation of early pregnancy and parenthood. Care‐experienced young women may become pregnant soon after exiting care, facing additional challenges as they navigate their move to ...
