Placental Blood‐Flow Velocity Quantification From Diffusion MRI

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 6, Page 2967-2977, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Altered placental capillary blood flow is closely linked to obstetric complications, yet quantifying capillary‐scale blood velocity remains challenging with existing imaging methods. This is partially because capillary networks form disordered microvascular beds at the voxel scale, rather than coherent, directional vessels.

A Voxel‐Wise T2 Distribution Framework for Lesion Severity Stratification and Treatment‐Response Assessment in Stroke: Insights Into Suberoylanilide Hydroxamic Acid‐Induced Neuroprotection

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 6, Page 2870-2884, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate lesion severity distribution in ischaemic brain lesions in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) subjected to 90‐min transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO), and to determine whether epigenetically based neuroprotection modifies lesion severity profiles using a voxel‐wise T2 distribution framework.

Diffusely impaired myocardial perfusion in patients with suspected coronary artery disease: Clinical utility of relative perfusion

open access: yesClinical Physiology and Functional Imaging, Volume 46, Issue 6, November 2026.
Abstract Background In patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD), diffusely impaired hyperaemic myocardial blood flow (MBF) may indicate a multivessel epicardial CAD but also impaired coronary microcirculation. We assessed whether relative hyperaemic MBF—that is, the ratio of the lowest to the highest regional hyperaemic MBF—predicts ...

An investigation of the functional significance of the pyramidalis muscle using shear wave elastography

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 249, Issue 5, Page 1130-1137, November 2026.
The pyramidalis (Py) is a small triangular‐shaped anterior abdominal wall muscle, the function of which remains uncertain. We used shear wave elastography to test the hypothesis that Py contributes to stiffness of the linea alba. Our results indicate that Py contraction results in a significant increase in LA stiffness, supporting the previously ...

Institutional CT dose reduction: A retrospective evaluation of dose indices from 2015–2024

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Background Growing attention to radiation risks and dose reduction in CT imaging creates opportunities to present and discuss institutional dose trends and contributing factors. Purpose To provide an evaluation of 10‐year trends in CT dose indices (CTDIvol and DLP) from a multi‐site and multi‐scanner institution, with the hypothesis that doses
