Subependymomas are infrequent benign tumours first identified by Scheinker (1945). Most of the subependymomas reported in the literature are autopsy findings, generally located in the fourth ventricle, in the elderly (Russell & Rubinstein, 1977). Occasionally they reach a size big enough to block the CSF pathways and become symptomatic (Scheitauer ...

The term ‘dementia praecox’ was used by Kraepelin to emphasise the tendency towards deterioration to a state of impairment resembling a dementia. Early studies looked for structural brain lesions post mortem, and later using pneumoencephalography; there were positive findings (Haug, 1962), but they were not always replicated (Storey, 1966).

CT Scanning and Subdural Empyema
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1982To the Editor.— We would like to submit our experience concerning the failure of computed tomographic (CT) scanning to detect subdural empyema in corroboration of the recently reported observations of Ralph O. Dunker, MD, and Rashida Khakoo, MD (1981;246:1116). In their article they described two patients who had subdural empyemas rapidly develop as a

Numerous papers are appearing in its praise; indeed a new journal entirely devoted to this new procedure is being published.
