EGR1 Nuclear Condensates Promote Renal Cyst Development in Polycystic Kidney Disease
ABSTRACT Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is marked by aberrant cell proliferation driven by cAMP‐PKA and MAPK signaling pathways. EGR1, a transcription factor directly activated by the above two pathways, is critical in the over‐proliferation of tumor cells, which share similarities with cystic epithelial cells in ADPKD. This study

The clinical value of KL-6 for predicting the occurrence and severity of connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease is not affected by CTD type or treatment [PDF]
Objective The aim of this study was to explore the potential values of Krebs von den Lungen-6 (KL-6), neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), systemic immune inflammation (SII), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte to lymphocyte ratio (MLR) and red

Metagenomic mining reveals novel Cas12 subtypes and their evolutionary diversification
We identified 4112 Cas12 Proteins and 6 new Cas12 subtypes, revealed their significant diversity in N‐terminal regions, repeat sequences, and sequences motifs. We developed an AI‐driven algorithm, Cas12fam, which allows precise annotation of 18 distinct domains in Cas12 proteins.

This study integrates two decades of surveillance with genomic and structural analyses to decipher how spike protein glycosylation haplotypes drive avian coronavirus evolution. We uncover how specific glycosylation patterns associate with receptor‐binding affinity, shape global transmission dynamics, and correlate with clinical outcomes.

Genome‐wide association study of periodontitis severity and progression
Abstract Background To add to the knowledge base of periodontal genomics, we carried out a genome‐wide association study (GWAS) of periodontitis severity and progression among 416 mixed‐ethnicity adult participants of a periodontitis clinical study. Methods Participants were 168 adults (mean age = 50 years, 46% males) with severe periodontitis and 248 ...
