This chapter describes the taxonomy of ctenophores. The ctenophores, or comb jellies, are gelatinous metazoans belonging to a small and entirely marine phylum of about 150 species. They are mostly planktonic, with the exception of the benthic order Platyctenida, where only the larvae are planktonic.
