Etching solutions of spent printed circuit boards (PCBs) contain precious metal ions like Au(III) and Pd(II) together with Cu(II). Therefore, it is crucial to recover Au(III) and Pd(II) from these solutions.

Biosorption Equilibrium and Kinetics of Au(III) and Cu(II) on Magnetotactic Bacteria
Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2007Abstract Magnetotactic bacteria (MTB) as biosorbents for the adsorption of Au(III) and Cu(II) ions from aqueous solution have been investigated. The optimum adsorption conditions for both metal ions were the initial pH scope of 1—5.5 for Au(III) and 2.0—4.5 for Cu(III), room temperature, biomass concentration of 10.0g·L -1 and sorption duration more

ABSTRACT A tridentate ligand HL having a ONN donor sequence has been synthesised by the condensation of ethylenediamine with salicylaldehyde. The ligand undergoes deprotonation during complexation and forms complexes of the compositions, [M(L)(SCN)], [M=Ni(II), Cu(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II), L=deprotonated Schiff base], K[Ti(L)(SCN)3], [Au(L)-(SCN)]Cl and ...

New Amperometric Methods for the Trace Determination of Cu(II), Ag(I) and Au(III)
ECS Transactions, 2010In the present study, amperometric determination of Cu(II), Ag(I) and Au(III) was carried out. We have used thioglycolic acid (TGA) for this purpose at d.m.e. (dropping mercury electrode). We have employed 0.1M NH3 + 0.1M NH4Cl medium for Cu(II) and Au(III) and 0.1M KNO3 for Ag(I).
