Simultaneous determination of Au(III) and Cu(II) with 1-phenyl-1,2-propanedione-2-oximethiosemicarbazone (PPDOT) on solid phase

Minerals Engineering, 2007
Abstract A new method for the simultaneous determination of copper and gold was developed by derivative spectrophotometry using a previous preconcentration on solid phase. The method is based on the formation of Cu(II)-PPDOT and Au(III)-PPDOT complexes that are extracted from aqueous solution in only 20 min on cationic exchange SP Sephadex C25.

Innocence and noninnocence of the ligands in bis(pyrazine-2,3-dithiolate and -diselonate) d8-metal complexes. A theoretical and experimental study for the Cu(iii), Au(iii) and Ni(ii) cases

Dalton Transactions, 2010
In the paper are described experimental and theoretical studies to investigate the electronic structures of [ML2]- (M(III) = Cu, L = pdt and pds, pyrazine-2,3-dithiolate and -diselonate; M(III) = Au, L = pds) with the aim of elucidating the nature of the bonding and to establish the innocent–noninnocent character of the ligand in these complexes ...

Effects of AgI, AuIII, and CuIIon the Reductive Dechlorination of Carbon Tetrachloride by Green Rust

Environmental Science & Technology, 2003
Green rusts (GRs), mixed iron(II)/iron(III) hydroxide minerals found in many suboxic environments, have been shown to reduce a range of organic and inorganic contaminants, including several chlorinated hydrocarbons. Many studies have demonstrated the catalytic activity of transition metal species in the reduction of chlorinated hydrocarbons, suggesting

Adsorption selectivity and dynamic adsorption behaviors of Cu(II), Ag(I), and Au(III) on silica gel encapsulated by amino functionalized polystyrene

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2010
AbstractAdsorption of precious metal ions from aqueous solutions has earned great concern recently due to environmental protection factor and the value of precious metals. In this article, a novel adsorbent silica gel microspheres encapsulated by amino functionalized polystyrene (SG‐PS‐NH2) has been synthesized, and the adsorption selectivity and the ...

Biosorption of Au(III) and Cu(II) from aqueous solution by a non-living Usnea longissima biomass

2005
The preconcentration of trace copper and gold from aqueous solutions by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS) determination was studied by using lichen (Usnea longissinia), as a biosorbent. Biosorption of Au (III) and Cu (II) from dilute aqueous solutions by biomass of the lichen Usnea longissima was investigated. The removal and recovery of gold
