Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Silica-gel Particles Loaded with an Ionic Liquid for Separation of Zr(IV) Prior to Its Determination by ICP-OES

open access: yesSensors, 2016
A new ionic liquid loaded silica gel amine (SG-APTMS-N,N-EPANTf2) was developed, as an adsorptive material, for selective adsorption and determination of zirconium, Zr(IV), without the need for a chelating intermediate.

Multiplicities in Au-Au and Cu-Cu collisions at \sqrt{s_{NN}} = 62.4 and 200 GeV

open access: yes, 2013
Likelihood ratio tests are performed for the hypothesis that charged-particle multiplicities measured in Au-Au and Cu-Cu collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 62.4$ and 200 GeV are distributed according to the negative binomial form.

Evaluation of the Potential of Laser Shock Peening Compared with Cold Expansion for Improving Fatigue Resistance of Riveted Lap Joints of Aerospace Grade 7175 Al Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...

Exploring the Anticancer Activity of Gold Complex with Newly Ligand (DDIBM): Synthesis, Spectral Identification and Magnetic Susceptibility of Its Metallic Complexes

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry
The new heterocyclic ligand, 5-(dimethylamino)-2-(((2-((E)-(4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)diazenyl)benzyl)imino)methyl)phenol (DDIBM), was synthesized via the condensation of p-aminobenzylamine with 4,5-diphenyl imidazole, and the resultant compound was ...

Preparation, Characterization, Theoretical and Biological Study of new Complexes with mannich base , 2chloro –N-5-(Piperidin -1-ylmethylthio)-1, 3, 4- Thiadiazol-2-yl)acetamide

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2023
A new Mannich base ligand was prepared by reacting the 2-chloro.-N-(5-mercapto-1, 3, 4-thiadazol -2-yl) acetamide and Piperidine in the presence (formaldehyde) (L) ligand. A series of ligand complexes were prepared from (L) with the metal ion Co (II), Ni

Production of π0 and η mesons in Cu+Au collisions at sNN =200 GeV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Production of π0 and η mesons has been measured at midrapidity in Cu+Au collisions at sNN=200GeV. Measurements were performed in π0(η)→γγ decay channel in the 1(2)-20GeV/c transverse momentum range.

Mid-infrared Hall effect in thin-film metals: Probing the Fermi surface anisotropy in Au and Cu

open access: yes, 1999
A sensitive mid-infrared (MIR, 900-1100 cm-1, 112-136 meV) photo-elastic polarization modulation technique is used to measure simultaneously Faraday rotation and circular dichroism in thin metal films.

Adjustment of Coatings Morphology and Particle Distribution of Layered Silicates by Freeze‐Drying for Improved Gas Barriers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Freeze‐drying of layered silicate is the key to get coatings with superior gas barrier. Freeze‐drying of layered silicates modified with dodecylamine (DDA) is a highly effective technique for the preparation of barrier pigments that significantly mitigate the permeation of oxygen, water vapor, and hydrogen through polymer films containing these ...
