Stereoselective and Enantiospecific Synthesis of Trisubstituted 1,3a,4,6a‐Tetrahydropentalene via Cuneane Scaffold Editing

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A stereoselective and enantiospecific synthesis of trisubstituted 1,3a,4,6a‐tetrahydropentalenes via Rh(I)‐catalyzed skeletal editing of optically active 2,6‐disubstituted cuneanes are reported. These are derived from achiral 1,4‐disubstituted cubanes through a catalytic asymmetric framework isomerization.
