A probabilistic diagnostic for Laplace approximations: Introduction and experimentation
Abstract Many models require integrals of high‐dimensional functions: for instance, to obtain marginal likelihoods. Such integrals may be intractable, or too expensive to compute numerically. Instead, we can use the Laplace approximation (LA). The LA is exact if the function is proportional to a normal density; its effectiveness therefore depends on ...

Adaptive and robust fractional gain based interpolatory cubature Kalman filter
In this study, we put forward the robust fractional gain based interpolatory cubature Kalman filter (FGBICKF) and the adaptive FGBICKF (AFGBICKF) for the development of the state estimators for stochastic nonlinear dynamics system.

ABSTRACT The recently published hyper‐reduction method “Empirically Corrected Cluster Cubature” (E3C) is applied for the first time in three dimensions (here magnetostatics). The method is verified to give accurate results even for a small number of integration points, such as 15 for 3D microstructure simulations.

A numerical technique, first reported in 1979 in refs.[1] and [2], for the numerical evaluation of two-dimensional Cauchy-type principal-value integrals, is extended in this paper to include several cubature formlas of the Radau and Lobatto types.

Cross-product cubature error bounds [PDF]
This paper is concerned with cross-product cubature rules. We use Sard’s Kernel Theorem [ 10 ] [10] to express the cross-product cubature error in terms of one variable kernels. This simplified representation of the error is then used to derive cubature error bounds analogous to those obtained by Secrest and ...

An Improved Strong Tracking Cubature Kalman Filter for GPS/INS Integrated Navigation Systems
The cubature Kalman filter (CKF) is widely used in the application of GPS/INS integrated navigation systems. However, its performance may decline in accuracy and even diverge in the presence of process uncertainties. To solve the problem, a new algorithm

Cubature quadrature Kalman filter
In this correspondence, the authors develop a novel method based on spherical radial cubature and Gauss–Laguerre quadrature rule for non‐linear state estimation problems. The proposed filter, referred as cubature quadrature Kalman filter (CQKF) would be able to overcome inherent disadvantages associated with the earlier reported cubature Kalman filter (
