Several biostratigraphic studies have been carried out on lacustrine and fluvial-lacustrine sediments in the neogene Duero Basin, these show that most of the outcrop depositional sequence belongs to the Aragonian - Upper Vallesian. Howewer, the age of neogene sedimentary infill is still unknown.
