Comparative evaluation of three methods of endotracheal tube cuff inflation for adequacy of seal

open access: yesJournal of Anaesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology, 2022
Background and Aims: Intubation with cuffed endotracheal tube (ETT) is common in operation rooms, critical care, and emergency rooms. The pressure exerted by the cuff on the tracheal mucosa can lead to a reduction in blood flow to the tracheal wall and ...

NFS1 Regulates IDH2 to Attenuate Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms via Interacting With SP2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The loss of NFS1 leads to its reduced binding with the transcription factor SP2, resulting in decreased expression of the downstream gene Idh2. This causes a shift in energy supply toward glycolysis in VSMCs, ultimately contributing to the occurrence and progression of AAA.

ENDOBRONCHIAL CUFF PRESSURES

open access: yesBritish Journal of Anaesthesia, 1993
In 20 adult patients (18 male) who presented for thoracotomy, the trachea was intubated using Mallinckrodt disposable double-lumen tubes (18 large and two medium). The endobronchial cuff was inflated by a trained operating department assistant using an air-filled syringe. The volume of air and the initial endobronchial cuff pressure were measured.

Midbrain PAG Astrocytes Modulate Mouse Defensive and Panic‐Like Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocytes in the midbrain periaqueductal gray (PAG) dynamically encode threat intensity and shape defensive action selection in mice. Real‐time Ca2+ imaging reveals robust astrocytic activation during predator odor and CO2 exposure. Aberrant astrocytic Ca2+ overactivation disrupts goal‐directed escape, biases behavior toward freezing, and induces ...
