Chicken Pulmonary MicroRNAs Targeting the PB2 (Segment 1) of Avian Influenza Virus
The PB2 segment of H5N1 is essential for replication and host adaptation. We screened 200 miRNAs and identified five (gga‐miR‐17‐3p, gga‐miR‐29a‐5p, gga‐miR‐1718, gga‐miR‐16c‐5p, and gga‐miR‐1744‐5p) using thermodynamic stability of heteroduplex, seed sequence complementarity, conservation, and accessibility, offering insights into host antiviral ...

ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

Infectiousness in a Cohort of Brazilian Dogs: Why Culling Fails to Control Visceral Leishmaniasis in Areas of High Transmission [PDF]
The elimination of seropositive dogs in Brazil has been used to control zoonotic visceral leishmaniasis but with little success. To elucidate the reasons for this, the infectiousness of 50 sentinel dogs exposed to natural Leishmania chagasi infection was

The impacts of biological invasions
ABSTRACT The Anthropocene is characterised by a continuous human‐mediated reshuffling of the distributions of species globally. Both intentional and unintentional introductions have resulted in numerous species being translocated beyond their native ranges, often leading to their establishment and subsequent spread – a process referred to as biological

Abstract In this paper, a reduced switch count single‐phase hybrid multilevel inverter (MLI) is presented. Level generation unit (LGU) and polarity changing unit (PCU) are the two parts of the presented topology which are connected in series. Other advantages of the proposed topology include the reduced switch count, higher level generation with ...

Effects of age and culling on movements and dispersal rates of yellow-legged gulls (Larus michahellis) from a western mediterranean colony [PDF]
This study reports the effects of age and culling of breeding adults on movements and dispersal rates of Yellow-legged Gulls (Larus michahellis) from a western Mediterranean colony (the Medes Islands) based on recaptures and resightings of birds banded ...
