A Reproducible and Scalable Process for High Yield Mesenchymal Stromal Cell Extracellular Vesicles Production

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stem cell derived extracellular vesicles (MSC‐EVs) are a promising therapeutic tool for regenerative medicine. However, the field lacks a reproducible high‐yield production method to answer the quantities needed for clinical translation.

Control of sudden death in cultivated proteas from the Southwest of Western Australia

open access: yes, 2004
Phytophthora cinnamomi Rands is a common and devastating pathogen of cultivated proteas worldwide. Webb (1997) described a Sudden Death plant disease of proteas in Western Australia (WA) protea plantations.

Parallel Electrical Integration of Photo Bio Electrochemical Systems (photo‐BESs): Performance Gains and Load Dependency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Parallel wiring of bioelectrochemical devices with conventional generators unexpectedly boosts output. A biophotovoltaic paired with a solar cell delivers up to 50% more power at low loads than their separate contributions; a plant microbial fuel cell shows similar current gains.

Substituting Chemical by Organic Fertilizer Improves Soil Quality, Regulates the Soil Microbiota and Increases Yields in Camellia oleifera

open access: yesMicroorganisms
The partial substitution of chemical fertilizer with organic fertilizer has been regarded as an effective strategy for enhancing crop yield and soil quality. Nevertheless, its effects on soil properties and microbes remain contentious.

Studies in Soil Cultivation.: V. Rotary Cultivation

open access: yesThe Journal of Agricultural Science, 1930
Experiments extending over the four years, 1926–9 inclusive, have been carried out on a heavy and stony loam soil to compare rotary cultivation with normal methods for the production of a seed-bed. The work has been confined to spring-sown crops—swedes and barley—and to spring cultivations.Rotary cultivation gives earlier and better germination of seed,

Tunable 3D‐Printed Static Mixers for Gradient Bioprinting With High Cell Viability

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The fabrication of native tissue‐like structures with gradual transitions in material properties, cell types, and growth factors remains a major challenge in biofabrication due to the lack of suitable methods. Mimicking the hierarchical organization of living tissues is essential for functional models, yet creating gradient, multimaterial ...

Classification of cultivated plants.

open access: yes, 1986
Agricultural practice demands principles for classification, starting from the basal entity in cultivated plants: the cultivar. In establishing biosystematic relationships between wild, weedy and cultivated plants, the species concept needs re ...

Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.
