Engineered Optogenetic Circuits In Yeast with Self‐Sustained Outputs
Optogenetic quorum‐sensing (OptoQS) circuit enables Saccharomyces cerevisiae to record transient light stimulus with self‐sustained outputs. Panel a indicates the design of the OptoQS circuit based on G‐protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling cascade. Panel b indicates the mode of action of surrogate messenger‐mediated signal transmission at the cell

This study reveals a metabolic signaling axis in the OSCC microenvironment where palmitic acid (PA) drives the activation of CAFs. PA uptake triggers CEBPG‐dependent epigenetic remodeling to upregulate ERN1 and TMBIM6, thereby mitigating ER stress. This adaptive program sustains CAF survival and the pro‐metastatic phenotype, establishing this pathway ...

Single‐cell RNA sequencing verified the presence of the VIM+ biliary epithelial cell (BEC) in the bile ducts of NAS patients. The hypoxia/TGF‐β‐CREM‐VIM axis mediated phenotypic switch toward VIM+ BEC is validated using a hypoxia/TGF‐β‐stimulated cellular model, a rat liver transplantation model, BEC‐specific Crem conditional knockout rats, and BEC ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

An edible biohybrid platform triggers nanoplastics (NPs) aging and agglomeration by in situ generating hydroxyl radicals within the intestine. The enlarged NPs are unable to penetrate the intestine and are subsequently excreted. Simultaneously, probiotic biofilms reinforce the intestinal barrier.

There exists in every person a desire to control events, to be master of the life that surrounds him, to engage the world autonomously. This article argues that this desire is peculiarly blind to the intrusion of the uncontrollable or unexpected in life, and, when religiously applied, derives from the character ofhubris.

The possibility to grow phytoplasmas in complex media as the mycoplasmas was ruled out for more than 40 years due to the inconsistency of the first isolation trials. The use of micropropagated infected periwinkle shoots first and tissues infected directly from the fields on artificial media was recently confirmed.
