Platelet lysate as a serum substitute for 2D static and 3D perfusion culture of stromal vascular fraction cells from human adipose tissue [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Fetal bovine serum (FBS) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-2 are key supplements for the culture of stromal vascular fraction (SVF) cells from adipose tissue, both for typical monolayer (2D) expansion and for streamlined generation of osteogenic ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Nutrient requirements and other factors involved in the culture of human kidney cells on microcarrier beads [PDF]

open access: yes
The culture of human kidney cells on microcarrier beads in the Bioprocessing Laboratory at the Johnson Space Center is described. These were the first series of studies performed before and during 1983 to determine optimum conditions, including medium ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Effet du milieu de culture sur le microbouturage de l'olivier (Olea europeae L.) cv. Picholine Marocaine [PDF]

open access: yesBiotechnologie, Agronomie, Société et Environnement, 2003
Effect of culture medium on micropropagation of olive (Olea europeae L.) cv. Moroccan Picholine. The effect of the basal media OM (Olive Medium), 1/2 MS (Murashige et Skoog with half strength macronutrients), WPM (Lloyd and McCown), 1/2 Miller (Miller ...

A two-fluid model for tissue growth within\ud a dynamic flow environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We study the growth of a tissue construct in a perfusion bioreactor, focussing on its response to the mechanical environment. The bioreactor system is modelled as a two-dimensional channel containing a tissue construct through which a flow of culture ...

A new cell primo-culture method for freshwater benthic diatom communities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A new cell primo-culture method was developed for the benthic diatom community isolated from biofilm sampled in rivers. The approach comprised three steps: (1) scraping biofilm from river pebbles, (2) diatom isolation from biofilm, and (3) diatom ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF CULTURE MEDIA FOR PATHOGEN ISOLATION OF PURULENT BACTERIAL MENINGITIS

open access: yesИнфекция и иммунитет, 2017
The State Research Center for Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology has designed two nutrient media — chocolate agar and PBM-agar to isolate pathogens of purulent bacterial meningitis (PBM). In our previous research using collected microbial strains the

Development and evaluation of TUMS medium, a novel biphasic culture medium for isolation of Brucella spp. from patients [PDF]

open access: yes
Background and objectives: There are limitations in time and technique for isolation of Brucella from patients. We developed a new Brucella culture medium and evaluated its efficiency compared to BACTEC blood culture system and serology.
