Imprecise Functional Estimation: The Cumulative Distribution Case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we propose an adaptation of the Parzen Rosenblatt cumulative distribution function estimator that uses maxitive kernels. The result of this estimator, on every point of the domain of F, the cumulative distribution to be estimated, is interval valued instead of punctual valued.

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Financial Burden Associated With Hospitalisation Among Families of Childhood Brain Tumours in Australia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

A Skew Product Distribution with Applications

open access: yesComputational Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences
The Rayleigh and error function distributions arise in many problems of applied and physical sciences. In this paper, we derive a skew type product Rayleigh-Error Function distribution by taking the product of the probability density function of ...

APPLICATIONS OF SOME NEW TRANSMUTED CUMULATIVE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS IN POPULATION DYNAMICS

open access: yesJournal of Bioinformatics and Genomics, 2017
Motivation: In literature, several transformations exists to obtain a new cumulative distribution function (cdf) using other(s) well-known cdf(s). Results: In this note we find applications of some new cumulative distribution function transformations ...

Feasibility and Safety of High‐Dose Proton Re‐Irradiation in Recurrent Pediatric Central Nervous System Tumors: A Single‐Institution Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors often recur despite multimodality therapy. Although re‐irradiation (re‐RT) has historically been limited by concerns for severe late toxicities, modern techniques have renewed interest in this approach. Proton therapy provides dosimetric advantages that may enable curative re‐treatment with
