Quicker detection risk‐adjusted cumulative sum charting procedures

Statistics in Medicine, 2020
When a patient is operated on, the surgical outcome depends on two major factors: (i) the patient's health condition and (ii) the surgical process comprising the surgeon, the supporting staff, operating environment, and equipment. An outcome is usually represented by one if a patient dies within 30 days of an operation and zero otherwise.

Cumulative Sum Charts

Technometrics, 1961
This paper, presented orally to the Gordon Research Conference on Statistics in Chemistry in July 1960, traces the development of process inspection schemes from the original methods of Shewhart to the new charts using cumulative sums, and surveys the present practice in the operation of schemes based on cumulative sums.

Weighted Cumulative Sum Technique

Technometrics, 1989
A class of weighted control schemes that generalizes the basic cumulative sum (CUSUM) technique is introduced. The schemes of the first type, in which the weights represent information concomitant with the data, prove to be especially useful when handling charts corresponding to samples of varying sizes.

Cumulants of random sum distributions

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 1990
Consider a random variable S being the sum of a number N of independent and identically distributed random variables Xj (j = 1, 2, ...) where the number N is itself a non-negative integer-valued random variable independent of the Xj An explicit expression of the r-th cumulant of S is given in terms of the cumulants of N and Xj, Asymptotic properties of
