Cumulative Sum Schemes for Monitoring the Ratio of Two Correlated Normal Variables in Short Production Runs with Fixed and Variable Sampling Interval Strategies: Application in Wheat Seed Processing

open access: yesMathematics
Short-run production is frequently used in manufacturing due to technological advancements, and it is integral to Agriculture 4.0. In addition, monitoring multiple variables in short production runs (SPR) is often essential.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The Measurement Errors and Their Effects on the Cumulative Sum Schemes for Monitoring the Ratio of Two Correlated Normal Variables

open access: yesAxioms
Monitoring the ratio of two correlated normal random variables is often used in many industrial manufacturing processes. At the same time, measurement errors inevitably exist in most processes, which have different effects on the performance of various ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Initial Learning Experience for Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy: A Surgeon's Experience While Introducing the Navigation Technology in Pulmonary Lesion Diagnosis

open access: yesJournal of Medical Sciences
Background: Diagnosing peripheral pulmonary lesions using a traditional bronchoscope is difficult. Reports on the learning experience for Veran's SPiN electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy (ENB) for the diagnosis of pulmonary lesions are limited.

On designing an assorted control charting approach to monitor process dispersion: an application to hard-bake process

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2020
The monitoring of process variability is an important feature to get optimal output from a process. Control charts are vital tools used for efficient process monitoring. The commonly used types of charts include Shewhart, cumulative sum and exponentially

WSN acoustic target iterations positioning method based on fixed time window cumulative sum [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2019
In order to improve the sensing ability of sensor nodes to acoustic events under environmental noise interference,a fixed time window cumulative sum method is proposed based on the maximum likelihood cumulative algorithm. The influence law of quaternary ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

An effective multivariate control chart for detecting small mean shifts using support vector data description

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2018
Conventional multivariate cumulative sum control charts are more sensitive to small shifts than T 2 control charts, but they cannot get the knowledge of manufacturing process through the learning of in-control data due to the characteristics of their own

On Cumulative Sum Procedures and the Sprt with Applications

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1984
SUMMARY Both one-sided and two-sided cumulative sum procedures of Page (1954) are shown to be closely related to a sequential probability ratio test (SPRT). The generating functions (Laplace transforms) of cumulative sum procedures are found in terms of the generating functions of a certain SPRT.
