Towards Query-by-eXpression Retrieval of Cuneiform Signs

International Conference on Frontiers in Handwriting Recognition, 2020
Intermediate representations based on binary attributes are widely used for image retrieval tasks. Especially for the task of word spotting, attribute representations continually achieves state-of-the-art results.

Postoperative Medial Cuneiform Position Correlation With Patient-Reported Outcomes Following Cotton Osteotomy for Reconstruction of the Stage II Adult-Acquired Flatfoot Deformity

Foot & ankle international, 2019
Background: Residual supination of the midfoot during reconstruction of the stage II adult-acquired flatfoot deformity (AAFD) is often addressed with a medial cuneiform (Cotton) osteotomy after adequate correction of the hindfoot valgus deformity.

The Biplanar Effect of the Medial Cuneiform Osteotomy

Foot & Ankle Specialist, 2020
Background. The “foot-CORA” (center of rotation of angulation) method confirms the medial cuneiform as the site of deformity in most forefoot/midfoot deformities and is therefore the ideal location to correct those deformities.

Maintenance of Correction of the Modified Lapidus Procedure With a First Metatarsal to Intermediate Cuneiform Cross-Screw Technique

Foot & ankle international, 2019
Background: Recurrence of deformity remains a concern when fusing the first tarsometatarsal joint for correction of hallux valgus (HV). A recently described construct adds an additional point of fixation from the plantar medial first metatarsal to the ...

cuneiform

2015
The cuneiform writing system originated in Southern Iraq in the mid-to-late 4th millennium bce and was used into the Common Era. Hence for over half of human history there were people writing in cuneiform. Extant sources suggest that it was the usual script for writing Sumerian, Akkadian, Hittite, and Elamite.

Radiographic Evaluation of First Metatarsal and Medial Cuneiform Morphology in Juvenile Hallux Valgus

Foot & ankle international, 2018
Background: Operative treatment of juvenile hallux valgus (JHV) has a high recurrence rate. The aim of this study was to better understand the pattern of radiographic deformity.

Breaking the Code on Broken Tablets: The Learning Challenge for Annotated Cuneiform Script in Normalized 2D and 3D Datasets

IEEE International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition, 2019
The number of known cuneiform tablets is assumed to be in the hundreds of thousands. The Hilprecht Archive Online contains 1977 high-resolution 3D scans of tablets. The online cuneiform database CDLI catalogs metadata for more than 100.000 tablets. While
