Apparatus and method for inspecting a bearing ball [PDF]
A method and apparatus for inspecting the surface of a ball bearing is disclosed which includes a base having a high friction non-abrasive base scanning surface. A holding device includes a cone-shaped cup recess in which a ball element is received.

A mechanically tunable hydrogel composed of gelatin, chondroitin sulfate and laminin promotes angiogenesis in vitro without the supplement of growth factors. Endothelial cells morphogenesis was further enhanced by medium conditioned with bioactive glass 58S‐released ions (Ca and Si), thus offering a promising strategy to vascularize 3D tissue ...

Willard Van Orman Quine's Philosophical Development in the 1930s and 1940s [PDF]
As analytic philosophy is becoming increasingly aware of and interested in its own history, the study of that field is broadening to include, not just its earliest beginnings, but also the mid-twentieth century.

Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals are promising scintillators but suffer from reabsorption losses and limited compatibility with high‐Z additives. Hybridization of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals with PbBr2‐passivated HfO2 nanoparticle sensitizers, achieved during or after synthesis, produces stable composites with maintained optical quality, improved ...

THE HISTORY OF RESEARCH ON LATVIAN CUP-MARKED STONES
The stones known as cup-marked stones stand out among stones with marks of ancient artificial treatment in north-eastern Europe, as well as in the rest of the world. So far in the literature the view has predominated that the number of cup-marked stones in Latvia is small in comparison with neigh- bouring countries.

Pattern formation during de novo assembly of the Arabidopsis shoot meristem [PDF]
Most multicellular organisms have a capacity to regenerate tissue after wounding. Few, however, have the ability to regenerate an entire new body from adult tissue. Induction of new shoot meristems from cultured root explants is a widely used, but poorly

In‐situ doping during growth of SnSe and subsequent attachment of SnS produces high‐quality lateral pn‐heterojunctions between van der Waals semiconductors. Electron beam induced current measurements demonstrate electrically active pn‐junctions, paving the way for devices that harness charge separation at lateral interfaces in layered heterostructures.

From Sochi - 2014 to FIFA - 2018: a Fading Sovereignty? [PDF]
In this article, we uncover the dynamics and the evolution of Russian discourses of sovereignty before and after the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games using some elements of Foucauldian methodology and constructivist reading of sovereignty as an institution.
