Pitting of Transfusion Tracheids in Cupressaceae

The morphology and development of the circular bordered pits on the transfusion tracheids in the leaves of Callitris muelleri are described from light microscopy of semithin sections and SEM studies of cut surfaces. Biflavones of the subfamily callitroideae, cupressaceae

Abstract Twenty species, including representatives of all 11 genera of the Callitroideae, were examined for biflavonoid content of the leafy twigs. The major biflavonoids are based on amentoflavone, cupressuflavone and hinokiflavone. Their uneven distribution amongst the genera allows the distinction of five groups.

Aspects of pollen morphology in the cupressaceae

Abstract The pollen grains of seven genera in the Cupressaceae were examined by means of light and scanning electron microscopy. The pollen is spheroidal, intectate, monoporate and scabrate, microverrucate to microgemmate. The uniformity of the pollen morphology supports the systematic unity of this family.
